I got “hooked” on radio as a child. I received a 14 transistor radio at the age of nine. It was small enough to be concealed under the pillow on my bed. This afforded me countless hours of listening to the “BIG” clear channel stations. Stations like WLW-Cincinnati,WLS-Chicago,
My start behind the microphone began in 1973 at WWSU,the “ten watt giant” of Wright State University. I was hooked on radio from that point on! I did this for two school years before leaving for the East coast and marching in two different national championship Drum and Bugle corps.
I then began a career in military service that lasted five years until I was retired on a medical disability. I then began a career in telecommunications network engineering that lasted thirty two years.
Since my retirement from telecommunications I have accomplished several personal milestones:
– Stage Manager/Emcee the past four years at The King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, Arkansas
– Certified Studio Sound Recording Engineer
– Produced a studio album for Earnest “Guitar” Roy,a second generation Mississippi Delta Bluesman
– Chief Judge for the past five years-Dayton Blues Society International Blues Challenge Road to Memphis
I also do a “Blues” radio show at WDPS,Dayton Public Schools.
When I discovered an opening was available here I was thrilled,I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here behind the microphone. I “work” with a great bunch of extremely dedicated and talented people.
As you can see music has been a large part of my life. Here at Oldies 97.3 I can assure you that we will play something that will put a grin on your face and place a song in your heart.
Thanks for coming along for the ride!
