While we still morn his passing, we do know\u00a0he would prefer we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Laugh<\/span> and remember him with a SMILE ! \u00a0 Bill, \u00a0you will always live on in our Hearts.<\/p>\n<p>Dave Bernard<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Bill Glover &#8211; Now always On Shift and Manning the Board and Phones<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/flan.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-515 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/flan.bmp\" alt=\"flan\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The story of a\u00a0Train Wreck<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_7_2_1_1359516786807_2752\">At the age of 6 my 18 year old cousin Robert moved in with us from Marietta, Ohio along with his fifty or so 45\u2019s. At 6 years old he was a walking radio station to me. \u201cI\u2019m gonna be like Robert,\u201d I said more than once. Hoping to DJ some day and amassing about 3,000 45\u2019s myself I bought a DJ setup for recording purposes only.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/001-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-516 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/001-2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"001-2\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The owner of Bruns (Tom Griffin) saw it across the street at the Shell station by channel 7 and asked if I\u2019d DJ the 1985 Christmas party. Things went so well that I was immediately asked to play\u00a0every Saturday. The next Saturday I was asked to do Fridays too. Joining the cadd<span style=\"font-size: small;\">y<\/span>\u00a0corner move to Taggart\u2019s Pub across the street I\u2019m still playing\u00a0Saturday nights.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/darth2-2.bmp\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-518\" src=\"https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/darth2-2.bmp\" alt=\"darth2-2\" width=\"350\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hearing about Oldies 97.3 \u00a0radio through a friend of mine, Bobby Dyke, I went to talk to the station management about DJing. Even though I obviously already knew what a Train Wreck was he explained it to me anyway. While he was talking I stood there saying to myself, \u2018If I ever get a gig here I\u2019m going to call my show the Train Wreck,\u2019 and that\u2019s where it came from.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/bl4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-519\" src=\"https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/bl4-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"bl4\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/bl4-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/bl4-160x120.jpg 160w, https:\/\/daytonoldies.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/bl4.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After a long training program, (\u201cHe won\u2019t go away,\u201d Greg Garrett said kidding. Or was he? lol) a station meeting was held on 7-09-09. That night I was asked if I\u2019d take the Tuesday shift since Chuck Berry was moving to Thursday and The Train Wreck was born on 7-16-09. Oh yeah, in case you\u2019re wondering, YES, that\u2019s me on a golf course playing polo golf. As you can tell the horse didn\u2019t appreciate being my cadd<span style=\"font-size: small;\">y<\/span>! And yes that\u2019s me dressed one year golfing as a gorilla.
